Citizens First Bank hosts free shred events to help the community protect itself from identity theft and fraud. Shredding documents is an important step in protecting personal and sensitive information, and it is a simple and effective way to prevent identity theft and maintain confidentiality. 

By shredding important documents before disposing of them, individuals can prevent their personal information from being used maliciously, or to protect their personal and sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands. Identity theft is a growing problem, and thieves can use information from discarded documents to steal someone’s identity, open fraudulent accounts, and commit other forms of financial fraud.

Inviting the community to bring their personal data for confidential destruction. Any outdated documents that may contain personal identifying information such as Social Security numbers, address, and date of birth or passwords should be shredded securely.
