Human Resources Manager

Position Summary: The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs that protect the bank’s assets, attract and retain high-quality employees, and support a productive work environment. This role ensures that HR practices align with the bank’s goals for growth and profitability while meeting compliance standards. The HR Manager supports executive management in achieving strategic goals by effectively managing all HR functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities:
    1. Compensation & Benefits Management
      • Oversee salary administration, incentive and bonus programs, employee benefits programs, workers’ compensation, and unemployment insurance.
      • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in all employee records and HR practices.
      • Administer and review benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance, along with FMLA and COBRA compliance, additional life plans, 401(k) plans and other applicable employee benefits including recommendation improvements.
      • Serve as Trustee for qualified plans, assessing new and existing benefits for competitiveness and recommending improvements.
    2. Recruitment & Talent Management
      • Manage recruitment, interviewing, placement, and performance appraisal processes, as well as employee transfers, promotions, and terminations.
      • Ensure that standards for working hours, overtime, leave, and holiday policies are consistent across the organization.
      • Ensure smooth on/off boarding procedures are followed.
    3. Compensation Analysis
      • Develop and maintain equitable compensation programs, analyzing market data to maintain competitive pay structures and conducting position evaluations to support company objectives.
    4. Policy & Program Development
      • Develop, recommend, and promote personnel policies and programs that support the bank’s objectives through efficient use of human capital.
      • Maintain and update the employee handbook, ensuring all policies are current and communicated effectively across the organization.
    5. Employee Relations & Compliance
      • Handle unemployment and workers’ compensation issues, representing the bank in hearings and legal proceedings as necessary.
      • Review and approve employment-related legal documents such as employment agreements, non-compete, and separation agreements.
      • Address employee concerns and provide counseling on work-related issues, maintaining a high level of confidentiality and tact.
    6. Training & Development
      • Develop and manage bank-wide training schedules, focusing on compliance, safety, and professional development.
      • Conduct and facilitate training for department and branch managers, ensuring alignment with HR policies and assisting with employee-related decisions.
    7. Data Management
      • Oversee data-related activities, including filing, archiving, and retrieval of employee records, ensuring accuracy and timely documentation.

 

Skills & Qualifications: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in HR management, with a background in relevant coursework, workshops, or seminars.
  3. In-depth knowledge of labor laws, EEO regulations, and compensation and benefits practices.
  4. Banking experience is a plus.
  5. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues with discretion.
